About Yana Ronin, Founder & Chief Strategist

Yana is a true "creative" and "suit" in one (BFA 2005; MBA 2014). An accomplished, award-winning professional with over three million square feet of projects under her belt. Experienced in all stages of pre-design, design, construction, and post-occupancy across industries in commercial real estate (CRE) projects, large and small. Passionate about understanding the impact of design, business, culture, and local context on the human experience in a built environment. Today, Yana partners with clients to help them navigate the post-COVID world, envision the future of work, develop re-entry strategies, and facilitate related change management campaigns. 

Yana founded FORTYSEVEN after realizing that many companies did not utilize a research-driven, data-based design approach. Design-strategy is often considered a "luxury" - too complex and too expensive to add to an already stretched construction budgets and timelines. With FORTYSEVEN, she aims to reverse this perception and show that strategic design thinking adds value at every scale and does not have to be out of reach.

Before establishing FORTYSEVEN, Yana was a part of Gensler's consulting studio in San Francisco (2008-2017). Her work has taken her all over the US, Shanghai, Tel Aviv, and Singapore. Her client list includes Apple, Facebook, GE, SFO, Nokia, Sony Mobile, HSBC, Genentech, PG&E, PayPal, JLL, Publicis Groupe, Kaiser Permanente, EA, and many others. She is a sought after speaker on the topic of Future of Work, having presented to audiences world-wide through webinars, panel discussions, and most recently as a key-note speaker at the international workplace design conference in Tel Aviv INNO2021.
