FUTURE OF WORK.

Even before COVID, workplace experience was not just about architectural form, trendy designs, or furniture - so why think of the future of work in terms reduced to an architectural manifestation of test-fits, budgets, headcounts, and pre-existing ideas (orthodoxies)? Your employees are your most valuable asset, and optimized real estate can be an invaluable tool that helps them thrive at work.
We view the workplace as an ecosystem of space, culture, rules, and tools that shape the experience and outcomes. This ecosystem is vital as we move towards hybrid work models (that combine on-site and off-site staff) with workplace employee experience extending to built environments companies can not control. In this new reality, we strive to ensure that your employees remain engaged, productive, and happy at work.

Our job as your strategic partner is to co-create a vision of the future, bridge the gaps between current and future states, and facilitate a data collection process. We extract insights that will inform workplace strategies, validate assumptions, drive data-based decision-making, and support implementation for post-COVID workplace re-entry, as well as thoughtful workplace experience and operations for the next decade.

Why does the workplace experience matter?

Picture
Experience in the workplace is everything. It affects talent retention and acquisition. It defines how well teams and individuals function at work. It can enable or hinder innovation and knowledge sharing in an organization. Experience at work impacts the bottom line by allowing organizations to prosper when all workplace elements are aligned and work together to create a thriving workplace ecosystem.

In the post-COVID world, the impact of workplace experience on employee well-being, mental health, engagement, and productivity is even more pressing. Research indicates that employees will expect more flexibility from their employers and will seek to balance their work and life. With all other things equal, employees will choose the company that offers them more flexibility, choice, and autonomy. Future "star" amenities will be flexibility, safety, and a shared purpose.

GLOBAL MOBILITY PROGRAM

A tech company that has historically prioritized a dedicated desk assignment had to rethink its approach due to exponential headcount growth coinciding with dropping campus attendance (pre-COVID). Developed a shared workplace strategy based on employee research and analytics that included utilization and badge data analysis, employee surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Following validation of desk-sharing through a Pilot project, created a Playbook for global program roll-out that includes processes, scorecards, change management roadmap, and design kit-of-parts for new builds and renovations of existing sites across the company's global portfolio.

AGILE WORKPLACE PILOTS

Facilitated a study of Agile Work Environment for a healthcare company's digital services arm. The study resulted in strategic workplace recommendations for a 10,000 sq.ft. Pilot space that will evolve over time to test 3 varied work environments, each testing a unique set of work settings and rules of engagement.
The Pilot experiments to be supported by a Change Management campaign leading up to each move pre-occupancy, and collecting feedback during and post-occupancy. This input will help finalize criteria for a national Agile Workplace Standards roll-out.

FUTURE OF WORK

Developed an Office of the Future (post-COVID) vision and strategy for a fin-tech company in California by engaging executive C-Suite leadership, management, and employees though surveys, focus groups, interviews, secondary research and visioning session.
Currently working on the development of re-entry and implementation strategy outline that bridges three workplace realities - past (pre-COVID), current (2020-2021), and future (2022 and beyond) through employee re-entry sentiment assessment and business goals, priorities and constraints.
